Didn’t he belong in your arms?
Didn’t
you feel at home in his?
Didn’t
you believe when he said he loved you?
Didn’t
you blush at the way it sounded?
Didn’t
you know it wasn’t a chance meeting?
Didn’t
you know he’d set your heart fleeting
With
myriad thoughts and emotions galore
Didn’t
you know he was all that you longed for?
Didn’t
your heart miss a beat, as he called your name?
Didn’t
you realise your worlds becoming the same?
This is by far the best prose of yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you Yashna. Finding your soulmate and actually being together is a real blessing.
Alas! that's not for everyone. Here's my distorted version of your beautiful poem:
He most definitely belonged in my arms
I wanted to be in his, there were no qualms
It sounded so good when he said, "I love you"
Even though I imagined it, it felt so true
Our's was a meeting planned by the divine
He was more intoxicating than our shared wine
I'd never felt drawn so strongly by anyone
Will never feel the same ever, that's a given
I was tied to my manners, I couldn't say anything
Now, he's there somewhere, wearing an engagement ring
Awww thanks my dear Kaanoon :)
ReplyDeleteBut I don't know how exactly to respond to your rendition of my poem. I can just say, hope is all that keeps us going. We all cling to hope, even unknowing.
PS: Keep writing. Also, I'm waiting for my invitation to Tea with SukriTi ;)
